This webcast is the third in a series looking at the service aggregator pattern in BizTalk Server 2009. The other webcasts are BizTalk Service Aggregator and BizTalk Orchestration Performance.

This webcast will look at utilizing the built in Send Port retry functionality in BizTalk Server to ensure that services are called reliably in the event to short term unavailability.

I've used BizTalk Server 2009 for this webcast, but BizTalk Server 2004, 2006, or 2006 R2 provide the same retry functionality. You will need BizTalk Server 2006 R2 or 2009 to leverage the WCF adapters.

Level: 300

In this webcast you will see

This webcast will start with the basic BizTalk Server Aggregator that was build in the previous webcast and look at how the design can be improved to provide lower latency and better performance. The correct use of the parallel actions shape and atomic scope shape will be discussed and implemented and the new design tested against the old design to evaluate the improvements in latency and performance.

This webcast will look at implementing a service aggregator pattern to call three WCF services that will book a hotel, flight and conference for attendees of a conference. The design will be kept simple for now, and will be optimized and made more reliable in future webcasts.

This webcast will continue from "BizTalk - BAM Part 1: Activities", and add a BAM view to the Sushi Process BAM activity. The view will be used to display information to a restaraunt manager, who is interested in the efficient of the sushi production process, and also the production trents in the restaurant in real time.

This webcast will demonstrate how a simple BAM solution can be applied to a real world scenario to produce real time data relating to a business process running in BizTalk Server. The BAM implementation will use a basic BAM activity to track sushi production in a restaurant, and a WPF application to display the data to the sushi chefs in real time.

The "Sequential Convoy Sushi Server" application will be used as the BizTalk Server process. This application is described in detail in its own webcast.

This webcast runs through the installation of the core BizTalk components in a multi server environment using Virtual PC images.

It's based on one of the labs in the QuickLearn BizTalk for Administrators course.

There are so many mapping questions on the BizTalk forums where the answer is "Use custom XSLT instead of the mapper", so I've been planning on getting this webcast out for a while.

In this webcast you will see

Problems encountered developing complex maps

Replacing mapper functionality with custom XSLT

Using custom XSLT for EDI mapping

Sorry for the very bad editing, I cut out the boring bits and mistakes to keep the time down.

I like this webcast best so far. I've been using the "Sushi Server" demo when teaching BizTalk courses. The sushi client is written using WPF, I'm starting to get the basics of it now, and it's fun to work with. Expect to see it appearing in more webcasts...
